If anyone had told us that one day we would actually photograph a bride…in her wedding dress…in a pond…on her wedding day…we would never have believed it. Yet, that’s exactly what we photographed on August 22, 2010 at Piper’s Heath Golf Club. The weather was tumultuous at best, but somehow when the time came for the outdoor ceremony and the photos that followed, the clouds held onto their rain until everything was done. Everyone marveled at how lucky the couple was to have a break in the rain, but we were the lucky ones to not only get a break in the rain, but to also have such a wonderful, willing and fun-loving couple to photograph. These are, without exaggeration, some of the best photos we’ve every captured on a wedding day. Every bride worries about the weather and prays for sun. The overcast sky and menacing clouds that made themselves at home on Sears and Dan’s wedding day made for dynamic and striking photos that allowed all the colours to pop. And as if our luck with the weather wasn’t enough, the bride then volunteered to walk into the knee-deep pond in her wedding dress! The beauty of the pond was nothing compared to Sears, who’s dress floated around her and gave the impression that she too was an ethereal and unbelievably beautiful lily pad.
