Dan & Sears – Beautiful Wedding at Piper’s Heath

If anyone had told us that one day we would actually photograph a bride…in her wedding dress…in a pond…on her wedding day…we would never have believed it. Yet, that’s exactly what we photographed on August 22, 2010 at Piper’s Heath Golf Club. The weather was tumultuous at best, but somehow when the time came for the outdoor ceremony and the photos that followed, the clouds held onto their rain until everything was done. Everyone marveled at how lucky the couple was to have a break in the rain, but we were the lucky ones to not only get a break in the rain, but to also have such a wonderful, willing and fun-loving couple to photograph. These are, without exaggeration, some of the best photos we’ve every captured on a wedding day. Every bride worries about the weather and prays for sun. The overcast sky and menacing clouds that made themselves at home on Sears and Dan’s wedding day made for dynamic and striking photos that allowed all the colours to pop. And as if our luck with the weather wasn’t enough, the bride then volunteered to walk into the knee-deep pond in her wedding dress! The beauty of the pond was nothing compared to Sears, who’s dress floated around her and gave the impression that she too was an ethereal and unbelievably beautiful lily pad.

Thank you to Sears and Dan for choosing us as the lucky photographers on their spectacular day and thank you to Michael Tenaglia and Michael Causi who, as always, will do anything in pursuit of the ultimate shot.

Kyle & Emily’s Toronto Engagement Shoot

When urbanites Kyle and Emily asked to have their engagement photos taken in downtown Toronto, we knew that it was a perfect match. Being very comfortable in their city surroundings made for fantastic photos and a relaxed couple, and having been childhood friends and now sweethearts as adults brought an element of playfulness and whimzy to the shoot.

Brian & Jing – Knollwood Golf Club

There are some photo shoots when everything seems to come together perfectly. When this happens, it’s like magic. Brian and Jing were the latest lucky ones to have magic happen on their perfect wedding day. Everything took place at Knollwood Golf Club in Ancaster, Ontario. Besides the beautiful grounds, the golf club is surrounded by sprawling farmland. The couple had thought of asking a nearby farmer for permission to photograph on his property, and he was very kind to allow it. And that’s when the magic happened! Something about taking a perfectly dressed couple and placing them in a rustic setting like a farm just compliments each other. Complete with wheat fields, a barn and a few chickens, this location allowed the quiet and beautiful love between Brian and Jing to shine. And yes, the chickens do cross the road (into the golf course), but they weren’t ready to tell us why.

Brightworks Summer Party 2010

Brightworks is an amazing communications agency in Toronto and every year they throw an incredible summer bash for their team, clients, suppliers, friends, family and anyone else who’s lucky enough to know this awesome company. What a weekend it was! See, for most people, great weather and a long weekend means relaxing at a cottage, catching up on some gardening or soaking in the sun. For us, great weather and a long weekend means more opportunity to take beautiful pictures! And boy did we ever! For starters, Kelvin and Arthur had an amazing time at Tanya and Darren’s Orangeville wedding on July 3rd at Hockley Valley Resort. Actually, “amazing” was the buzz word for the evening! The gorgeous couple were amazing to photograph…the weather could not have been more amazing…and amazing is the word each of them used to describe the other during their speech.

Thank you to Tanya and Darren for choosing us to capture their special day and for being so wonderful to photograph!

For Michael and I, the beautiful weather gave us an opportunity to photograph our favourite subject…our son. I think he’s officially the most photographed baby in the world, but I’m sure every parent thinks the same. Baby portraits are always so much fun and one area that we specialize in that never seems like work. Outdoor baby portraits are the best and somehow babies and nature go together like spit-up and bibs…and we certainly know about both these days! We’ve posted a few photos for you to enjoy and hopefully brighten your day.

Well here it is! The new face of michael t photography! As Toronto wedding photographers, golf photographers, portrait photographers and artists, we’ve got a lot to show the world. This new website format will allow you to view every branch of michael t photography in a much easier way. Just click “PORTFOLIO” to view each specific website. Under “ALL ABOUT US” you’ll be able to get a closer look at the company as well as the photographers. There’s a “RESOURCE” section for brides looking for awesome wedding suppliers that we recommend because more than anything we want our clients have the best wedding possible…and on that note, we’ve also put in an “ASK THE EXPERT” section because after photographing 500+ weddings and engagements over the last 10 years, we’ve seen it all! We’ll be offering photography advice, like which colours pop, which locations are our favorite for wedding day photos and how to plan out your photography time line, as well as advice about all kinds of other things that we’ve noticed over the years. You’ll be able to post your questions and get advice for your specific wedding.
